ESL Programs
The Academic ESL Program is a stepping stone to our university programs, providing students with the means to succeed in their university education.
Program Description
The Academic ESL Program is a full time (25 hours per week) program designed for students who need to improve their English before entering the Senior Secondary or University Transfer Program. The goal of this program is to introduce students to the basics of academic writing and communication.
English language programs focus on preparing students with the language skills needed for success in Secondary or University studies in North America. We also welcome students wishing to take an intensive English program for business and soial purposes. Students combine a variety of required and elective courses in a program operating on the same semester scheule as the College’s academic programs, with an added entry- point at the mid-point of each semester.
There are three Cambridge Exams:
- First Certificate in English (FCE)
- Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
- Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
The Cambridge Exams are internationally recognized and, upon successful completion of the exam, students are awarded a certificate, which they can use to further their employment prospects or gain entry to an educational institution.
