History & Location of School

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (usually abbreviated to Kwantlen, renamed since Sept 2008) is a degree-granting undergraduate polytechnic university. Kwantlen College was formed in 1981, splitting from Douglas College and in 1995, the school was renamed Kwantlen University College. The name “Kwantlen” means “Tireless Runner” and is derived from the Kwantlen First Nation that established its home in the regions served by Kwantlen. The school has four campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia:

As a polytechnic university, Kwantlen is committed to offering programs that provides a hands-on education for their students. Kwantlen offers a comprehensive range of programs: liberal arts and science, technology and professional, trades and apprenticeship, and qualifying and developmental. Tuition: $420/credit
Fees for libraries, technologies & student life: $15/credit
Global Campus Health Plan: $120 ($170 exchange students)

Continuous Intake Program Fees
Tuition: $400/week

Fixed-Term Program Fees
Tuition: $420/credit

Other Fees
Student Association Fees: Flat rate of $7/semester + $3/credit (maximum of $47/semester)
Bursary Fund: $1/semester
Lobby Fund: $2/semester
Campus Culture & Student Publication fee: $0.75/credit/semester
Canadian Federation of Students Levy: $0.60/credit (maximum of $7.20/semester)
Student Medical and Dental Plan Fees: $179.00 per year (can be waived if student already has coverage)
